ABOUT ASAADHARAN

Asaadharan is a Nonprofit Organisation Transforming Education in Gujarat.

At Asaadharan Foundation, we believe every child deserves an equitable opportunity to attain holistic foundational education. Our work revolves around Whole School Transformation (WST) and the Asaadharan Teaching Fellowship Program, where we partner with government schools to strengthen systems from within, nurture teachers, empower student leadership, engage community and create joyful learning environments.

Our Edu-Leaders make learning joyful with stories, activities and curiosity. We support teachers, involve parents, and give children English support, remedial learning and leadership opportunities.

Till now, we have reached 2,00,000 children, directly impacted 4000 children and trained 4800 teachers and principals to bring life back into their classrooms.

In the next five years, we aim to transform lives of 3,00,000 children by building a movement of 50 Edu-Leaders and 10,000 Teachers to drive classroom excellence and become advocates of holistic education

Mission

Building a movement of educators, leaders and advocates who are inspired and equipped with knowledge, skills and mindset to provide holistic education to students.

Vision

By 2030, empower 10,000 teachers to drive classroom excellence and enable 3,00,000 children in Gujarat to become emotionally resilient, wise decision-makers, and compassionate problem-solvers.

Value

Building a movement of educators, leaders and advocates who are inspired and equipped with knowledge, skills and mindset to provide holistic education to students.

The crisis in foundational learning starts early and needs bold solutions.

Over 47% of Grade 5 and 27% of Grade 8 students cannot read a Grade 2-level text.
Over 80% of Grade 5 and 65% of Grade 8 students cannot solve basic division problems.
This severe lack of foundational literacy and numeracy is a major factor in the 24% dropout rate after Grade 8.

Substance Abuse

Substance abuse among youth affects school attendance and overall learning outcomes.

Student-Teacher Ratio

Many children struggle with basic literacy and numeracy, with 1 in 3 unable to read and 3 in 5 unable to do math.

Dropout rate

An imbalanced student-teacher ratio leads to insufficient attention for individual students.

Literacy gap

A significant number of students drop out as they progress from primary to higher secondary education.
